Wurstkuche
Wurstkuche, oh, how I love you, let me count the ways…I love that you not only have delicious meat sausages (from bratwurst to rattlesnake) for my carnivorous friends, but that you also have three amazing vegetarian sausage options (Chipotle, Italian, and Apple Sage) so I can partake in the bordering-on-carnal delights as well. I love your amazing Belgian fries that are so crispy and taste so yummy as I munch on my sausage and take a swig of my beer. And OH, the beer…I could come in here every night and never get bored with your amazing selection of beer. You have some of my old favorites such as Allagash and Old Rasputin, and because of you, I’ve discovered some new favorites, from Aventinus to Reissdorf Kolsch.
Seriously, people. Wurstkuche is THE bomb. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d be here every other night. Why not every night, you ask? Well, beer isn’t exactly beneficial for a gal’s figure, you know what I mean?
Friday nights and Saturday nights can get pretty crazy, so if you’re planning to fit Wurstkuche into your weekend schedule, get there early (before 7) or plan on waiting in a long line to order and perhaps another line for a seat. There are 3 long communal tables or you can vie for one of the smaller tables on the side.
There’s also a great little private area tucked away if you want to have a special event for a large group. I’m guessing it might hold between 25-30 but call ahead to make sure and to of course reserve the spot.
I can’t forget to mention the staff. They are all really helpful, easy-going, friendly people, and they’re certainly a large reason why this place it tops in my book.
